I’m just learning which natural products to use to help my skin, as I am slowly switching away from the commercially prepared stuff that’s full of the bad chemicals. So far, I’ve started to incorporate shea butter, cocoa butter and coconut oil into lotions and I like the effect. I can see how these, especially, can help in the winter.
My winter essential is an oil/essential oil blend for my face. I usually use jojoba oil and a either rose hip oil or grapeseed. Plus I add a bit of tea tree and lavender.

My favorite winter time skin care would probably have to be a few things. I have a procedure in how I do them also. I make a skin scrub with brown sugar, oil (of your so desire), and a dollop of honey mixed together (and if you have it an essential oil of your choice). I like to give my whole body a vigorous scrub while in the shower. My skin feels super soft and moisturized afterwards. Then I like to give myself a splash of rosemary tea as a toner. (it also works wonders for your hair!) Finally I like to finish off with a homemade lotion made with lavender hydrosol, beeswax, olive oil, and lavender essential oil.
Look forward to reading more blog posts!

Very cool giveaway!! I just signed up for the newsletter. Still don’t have a favorite winter routine as I’m just getting started in making my own, but am really enjoying it. Getting better every week.
For this winter’s weather I’ve just started using coconut oil as my daily moisturizer! It works so well, and I love the uplifting tropical smell of coconuts that lingers for awhile after I use it.
I have also mentioned this giveaway on Facebook and Twitter.
I’m pretty excited about it too, because my sister and I just received our order this morning from MRH that contains some of these ingredients. We’re planning on making some peppermint lip balm to give as gifts this week!
My favorite product to use in the winter is organic coconut oil. I use it on my skin and as a deep conditioner for my hair. Not only does it make my hair and skin soft I smell like I’ready for the beach.
Shea butter, drinking water and using my handmade soap! Shared this on my Facebook page-Sweet Pine Soaps. Thank you! Love Mountain Rose!

This might horrify some of you, but emu oil gets my hands through the winter. My hands crack and bleed normally, and it keeps them soft as can be. I just discovered Mountain Rose Herbs a couple of months ago, and I ordered the supplies to try and make some lotion bars that will include emu oil and other healing oils. Can’t wait to make them this week!

My skin gets very dry in the winter and I just discovered dry skin brushing! I brush my skin before getting in the shower, then use good moisturizing lotion with calendula after I dry off. As for the skin on my face, I like a good cooling face wash like olive oil and tea tree. My skin feels so soft and clean after ‘washing’!

I love making lip balm and other homemade products – your supplies are the best! I subscribed to your newsletter.
My favorite winter essential for healthy skin is jojoba oil. I have oily skin, and this jojoba is just the right balance – heavy enough to really moisturize, but light and silky so it doesn’t leave my face feeling even oilier. I also love splashing my face with some warm chamomile tea – I think it’s lovely and soothing on winter skin.
